Sometimes we don't even realize when it's happening -- EATING. All of us have eaten something when we weren't actually hungry. Well for me its okay from time-to-time but over doing it? Oh-oh! Honestly, I do this every now and then, but I'm trying to avoid it as much as possible because I really really want to lose weight!!! Hahaha! Anyway, here are some reasons why we do it -- (eating when not hungry).
- Emotional -- sad, heart broken you eat. Angry? instead of hitting the person that caused it, you eat! Happy, you celebrate... you eat!
- Boredom -- sometimes you're not EMO (emotional), you're simply BORED then you EAT!
- Other people are eating -- its easy to indulge when people around you are eating too.
- Food is there -- it is tempting, its there and you can't say no.
- Food is FREE -- who would say no to a free food?! LOL!
What we can do with it?
- Emotional - write it down instead, breathe in and out. have a blog like me! hahaha!
- Boredom - have a "to-do-list" and if you have nothing to do.. catch up with your BFF and if still its not enough, maybe you can go to gym? or just have a walk with your dog. Write a letter, clean your room if not enough then your house and backyard?
- Other people are eating - you don't need to eat just to fit in, if you're not hungry don't eat, drink water instead! ;)
- Food is there - close your eyes! Kidding! I know its hard to turn down because its already there so what you can do is... keep it out of sight! if you have a bag of snacks, keep it to the highest shelf in the cabinet so you won't see it every time you pass by your kitchen.
- Food is FREE - Don't eat up just because its free guys, check with your friend stomy (stomach) if it really needs to be bombarded with freebies! LOL! Anyway, its okay to say No!
I hope this helps! Always identify first your level of hunger and I hope I can do this too.. they say, practice what you preach. Hahaha! I'm in a work in progress, and these are the things I need to keep telling myself as well, don't eat when not hungry!!!
